Rhetoric and Pumpkin Guts: RWDMS Student and Faculty Social

How do Pumpkins and Rhetoric get along? Based on a wonderful afternoon of fun, carving, socializing, and learning with undergraduate and graduate students and faculty in the RWDMS program, the combined forces of rhetorical skills and pumpkin carving were an excellent way to learn more about the RWDMS programs offered through NAU’s English Department. Students and faculty from Arizona, California, Nevada, Michigan, England, Austria, and China mingled around a hot pot last Friday, enjoyed rice and bean burritos, and created some fearsome and some funny Halloween pumpkins to take home. For many, it was the first time experimenting with gutting a pumpkin, taking a knife to it, and creating an international pumpkin design. The pictures below are just a small window into all the activities that took place.
